Lindegaard up for battle to be Manchester United No1

Anders Lindegaard says he can be Manchester United's new No1.

Keeper Lindegaard has been forgotten in the wake of David de Gea's arrival from Atletico Madrid.

But the 27-year-old Dane, signed from Norwegian side Aalesund for £3.5m last January, has not given up on his dream of succeeding the retired Edwin van der Sar.

Lindegaard said: "It's the job everybody wants, and I'm no different.

"Edwin was a legend at the club."
