Anders Lindegaard admits he first months at Manchester United left him shot of confidence.
The Dane, 27, signed exactly a year ago in a £3.5million move from Norwegian side Aalesunds but suffered a knee injury in March, which ruled him out until the summer.
Lindegaard told The Sun: "There was so much doubt on my return.
"I had yet to prove my worth to the team. In my eyes I had not earned their respect yet.
"People were unhappy with me not performing as expected during practice.
"At that time, everybody in the squad gets frustrated because nobody performs like they want to and they take their frustrations out on somebody.
"Often it hits the weakest link. And at that time it was me. I had proved absolutely nothing and I came with a name that was hard to pronounce." "It is not unusual when returning for summer training.
