League Two strugglers Lincoln have appointed former Huddersfield boss Peter Jackson as their new manager until the summer of 2009.
Jackson, 46, has signed a contract to replace John Schofield, who was sacked two weeks ago after a poor start to the season.
"It's important that everyone connected with Lincoln City unites as we aim to climb the table. I'm really looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead."
Chairman Steff Wright added: "The board feel very positive about this appointment.
"A lot of the key building blocks are in place at the club and we're confident that the appointment of Peter Jackson as manager will help drive the club forward to the success we all desire."
