Lincoln boss Cowley desperate to beat Chelsea and reach Wembley

Lincoln City boss Danny Cowley says they're desperate to beat Chelsea tonight.

The Cowley brothers, Danny and his assistant Nicky, helped giant killers Lincoln reach the FA Cup quarter finals after knocking out Ipswich and Burnley before they went out at Arsenal.

This time they can reach Wembley for the first time in Lincoln's 133 year history if they can beat Chelsea in the Checkatrade Trophy semi-final on Tuesday night.

Danny Cowley said: “For me, this is a brilliant competition because we reached the last eight of the FA Cup but, being realistic, we were never going to win it.

“But in this one, we have got a genuine chance of winning it. We've got a fantastic set of fans, it'll be a 10,000 sell out crowd at Sincil Bank and it would be a chance to get to Wembley for the first time in the club's history.

“We'll be underdogs again this time but what happened last year will give us experience for this time and the fans will really enjoy it.

"It's a great chance for us to go to Wembley and write a new chapter in the club's history.

“They have got better individuals than us but collectively we're a good unit, got some good players and if we didn't feel we had a chance then there would be no point in even turning up."
