Lille are pushing for an outright sale for Salomon Kalou.
The Birmingham Mail says West Bromwich Albion's hopes of manipulating a loan-to-permanent deal for Lille winger Kalou - also being looked at by West Ham United - are unlikely with the French club expected to demand a permanent deal.
Unless Lille change their stance it would mean Albion having to match his buy-out clause, which is in the region of £2.6million.
