Lille’s Mavuba: Liverpool’s Cole wants to stay

Lille’s Rio Mavuba believes his midfield mate Joe Cole wants to remain at the French club.

The former England national team regular is on a season-long loan from Liverpool but Mavuba is confident that the 30-year old will want to stay on when his current agreement ends.

"I think Joe [Cole] really wants to stay because he takes pleasure playing for this team," Mavuba told RTL.

"Now it is up to the board to work it out with him."
