Lille expecting Liverpool target Origi to remain

Lille manager Rene Girard is expecting young gun Divock Origi to still be with the French club next season.

19-year old Origi impressed for Belgium at the 2014 World Cup, scoring once in five appearances, which has prompted interest from the Reds in the current transfer window.

It is believed that Origi's agent has been in talks with Liverpool regarding a proposed £10million shift to Anfield but Girard feels that the promising attacker will be staying put at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy.

"Divock Origi will be here (at Lille) this season," he told reporters.

Origi, who scored the winner for the Rode Duivels against Russia in Rio de Janeiro, has netted seven goals in 45 appearances for Lille since making his debut in 2012.
