Lille coach Rudi Garcia says Newcastle United are to blame for Mathieu Debuchy's move not going through.

Garcia has blamed Newcastle for the move not happening, claiming they failed to meet Lille's asking price for the 27-year-old.

"If Newcastle would have done what they had to, then Mathieu would have left," Garcia told L'Equipe.

"Now I believe Mathieu has swallowed it. He is now looking forward and that is the most important thing.

"How do I find his behaviour? Perfectly normal, that is the right term. He longs to play again after his injury."
