Lille midfielder Rio Mavuba has revealed he had an offer from AS Roma in the summer.
Roma were eyeing Mavuba as a replacement for Daniele de Rossi.
"There was contact with Roma," he told RMC Sport. "Even before the arrival of Rudi Garcia they were after me.
"The club was interested because De Rossi was poised to leave at the time - it looked like he was about to go.
"Eventually though, he stayed in Rome and the move was off.
"I'm focused fully on Lille, but at the end of the season we'll see what happens."
