DC United's goalkeeping situation was dire when Louis Crayton, the Liberia international, was signed a month ago. The Red and Black had recorded one clean sheet the entire season and had uncharacteristically lost all three games of the Superliga tournament at home.
Now as DC United enters the final stretch of the MLS season, the club is once again chasing silverware thanks to Crayton. In five appearances with club he has already kept three clean sheets, the most recent being a nil-all draw against New York Red Bulls this past Saturday.
Crayton has made 35 appearances for Liberia and came to United from FC Basel, where he had spent the previous three seasons.
