DC United have signed striker Francis Doe to a new 12-month deal. United are retaining the player on loan from a Ghanaian club.

The Liberian striker, who has represented his country eight times, scored seven goals in 19 appearances in all competitions last season for DC.

"Francis made a lot of progress during the second half of the 2008 season and we're excited to have him back in 2009," DC General Manager Dave Kasper said. "We look forward to having him in for a full preseason of work, and we expect that he will compete for a starting position this season."
