The highly-rated 24-year-old completed a move from Brighton on transfer deadline day, signing a three-and-a-half-year deal on Wearside.
"It's a great feeling," Bridcutt told SAFSee shortly after putting pen to paper.
"Sunderland are a massive club and I've been given a great opportunity here, so I'm looking forward to what's in store for me.
"Gus Poyet has had a big impact on my career, and now to have another opportunity to play for him - I was always going to take it.
"I have said in previous interviews I've done that he's a great man and I respect him highly. What he's done here has been fantastic.
Tactically he is up there with the best. His passion for football rubs off on the players and you can see that on the pitch."
