Liam Brady: Conte taking on Costa has worked for Chelsea

Arsenal legend Liam Brady has hailed Chelsea manager Antonio Conte for his handling of Diego Costa.

Conte has most certainly made a huge impact since his arrival as manager of Chelsea over the summer and one of the many players who has managed to flourish under the 47-year-old at Stamford Bridge so far this season is firebrand striker Costa.

The Spain international has scored an impressive 10 goals in 13 Premier League appearances so far and he has been crucial to Chelsea's rise to the top of the table.

Gunners great Brady has been impressed by how Conte has managed to transform Costa this term and has stated that the Italian tactician using tough love has worked extremely well.

Brady told The Stand: "Conte was brave enough to take him on and say 'look, I'm the manager, you're the player, you have to have respect for me, otherwise I'm not going to put you in the team.

"I think Conte has shown the courage to take these big players on, no body is having a moan at Chelsea because I think that they have a respect for Conte."
