Leyton Orient sign Everton keeper Jones

Leyton Orient have signed goalkeeper Jamie Jones from Everton.

Orient boss Martin Ling was delighted with his latest signing.

"I'm very pleased to have signed Jamie," he said. "He has been with Everton since the age of seven and has an excellent pedigree.

"Jamie is a good size and will provide excellent competition for Glenn Morris. He will be able to learn from being around a first team set-up and it's pleasing to complete another piece of the jigsaw.

"He first came on to our radar from our northern scout watching him for Everton's reserves on a couple of occasions last year and the reports we had were positive.

"He also spent time on trial at Yeovil last season and they were keen to sign him - and the fact that another League One club were in for him shows that he is of good quality."
