Leyton Orient set for windfall from sale of Portsmouth, West Ham target Shorey

Leyton Orient are set for a windfall should Nicky Shorey quit Reading for a Premiership return.

Shorey has been linked with Portsmouth and West Ham following Reading's relegation and the Os would land a sell-on fee for the full-back they sold to the Royals for an initial £25,000 back in 2001.

"It would mean I would be able to look at the next level of strikers, those with proven quality and there are a couple I'm interested in," Orient boss Martin Ling told the Recorder.
