Leyton Orient midfielder Jimmy Smith admits he burst out laughing when he saw Arsenal's defence gift wrap Birmingham City's Carling Cup winner on Sunday.
Former Chelsea midfielder Smith faces Arsenal tonight in their FA Cup replay.
"What did I do when Obafemi Martins scored the winner against Arsenal on Sunday? I laughed," Smith told the Daily Mail with another chuckle. "Maybe I shouldn't have because they might take it out on us. But I don't really like Arsenal. I was raised that way, so it'll be extra special for me if we can win."
A huge Emirates crowd will trigger thoughts of what might have been for Smith. Spotted as a nine-year-old playing youth football for Redbridge United, he was tipped to make it at Stamford Bridge. But his debut against Newcastle on the final day of the 2005-06 season, under Jose Mourinho, turned out to be his only game for the club.
"I feel like I've a point to prove against Arsenal. I loved it at Chelsea, but I felt I needed to play regular football," said Smith.
