Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has been told his next signing must be a striker.
The Mirror says chairman Daniel Levy wants Spurs' manager to use the club's available cash on a hitman, then do some selling before bringing in the other players he is chasing.
Levy is running the White Hart Lane side's transfer activity with a tighter rein that ever this summer.
He plans to begin their dealings by completing a swoop for Manchester City's misfit striker Emmanuel Adebayor.
Adebayor is expected at White Hart Lane once the clubs agree how to pay his massive wages.
Although it will be a loan deal, the arrangement will probably cost Tottenham around £5million for a season.
