Leverkusen want to reward ex-Liverpool defender Hyypia with new deal

Bayer Leverkusen general manager Rudi Voller is hoping Sami Hyypia remains with the club.

The 40-year old former Liverpool defender has die Werkself sitting second on the Bundesliga table, following last season's third-placed finish, which has prompted Voller to make it clear that he wants Hyypia to stay at the BayArena beyond June 2015.

"I am very sure that we will soon sit down and agree a new contract," Voller told Sky Deutschland.

"He knows all about us and we know all about him. We do not have a date scheduled yet, but we will do.

"Sami enjoys being at our club and he is doing a fantastic job. He is a bit different from other managers."
