Bayer Leverkusen general manager Michael Reschke has been told by Chelsea that Kevin De Bruyne is not available.
The German club were hoping to bring the Belgian winger to the BayArena as part of the deal that would see Andre Schurrle move to Stamford Bridge but it appears as though new Blues boss Jose Mourinho is preparing to have the 21-year old in his plans for next season.
"At a meeting on Wednesday in Leipzig, Chelsea and Jose Mourinho made it clear that Kevin returns to Chelsea," Reschke told Bild.
"It was not possible to connect it with the Andre Schurrle transfer."
De Bruyne impressed on loan in the Bundesliga last season with Werder Bremen.
