Celtic defender Charlie Mulgrew was solid for Scotland last night with his performance gaining recognition from manager Craig Levein.
The much-improved 25-year old was deployed at left-back in the 1-1 draw in Slovenia in the absence of Aston Villa's Alan Hutton and was one of a quartet of players who Levein picked out as having good games, the other three all playing in the English Premier League.
"I was also pleased with the performance of James McArthur, who hasn't been playing much football at Wigan recently, but who had another good game in the middle.
"The whole team played some great stuff and we created opportunities.
"(West Bromwich Albion midfielder) James Morrison's improvement, for example, has been really noticeable for club and country. He's one of many who are kicking on.""I had to play two new full-backs in (Norwich City's) Russell Martin and Charlie Mulgrew, who were filling in for Alan Hutton and Phil Bardsley, but I thought they both did well," Levein said.
