Levante boss Martinez insists Seattle Sounders target Martins a vital player

Levante manager Juan Ignacio Martinez has indicated that Obafemi Martins is not on his way to Seattle Sounders.

The Nigerian striker has been heavily linked with a shift to MLS but prior to Thursday's Europa League clash with Martin's former club Rubin Kazan, Martinez said he would be remaining at Estadio Ciudad de Valencia.

"For me it was a small problem or a 'big problem' on the eve of the match against Valencia at the Mestalla (on the weekend), but there is no problem. Martins is a player of the squad," said Martinez.

"In the time that I share with him he shows me that the game this Thursday is an added motivation to have him because he is against his former team and I see him being very involved.

"The fans may be angry but be grateful for their performance, we must not forget that he is a major player for us."
