Less teams means more tickets released by FIFA

FIFA will release 5,000 tickets for the first knock-out stage of the World Cup that had been reserved for fans of teams including France and South Africa, following their elimination in the first round. "We have some of the reserved tickets coming back for public sale," FIFA spokesman Pekka Odriozola said, as reported by Reuters.

"These tickets are coming back from teams that were eliminated such as France and South Africa."

Saturday's Uruguay-South Korea match will have 4,000 extra tickets made available, and 1,000 tickets will be opened up for Argentina-Mexico on Sunday.
