Lescott says Man City eager to move on from Mancini

Joleon Lescott says Manchester City players are eager to move on from the sacking of Roberto Mancini.

City's campaign finally reaches its conclusion as they take on Chelsea in a friendly in New York's Yankees Stadium tonight.

Lescott said: "It's been difficult for everyone but it is important as a player you understand that no matter what happens you need to keep striving to improve every game. We'll continue to do that.

"The decision has been made by the club and we have to respect that as players.

"We play for Man City. They have seen fit to part ways with Roberto and we have just got to get ourselves right for the new manager."
