Lescott to miss last two Man City matches

Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott will miss the final two matches of the season says manager Roberto Mancini.

The former Everton man has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since March 20 when he hurt himself in the warm-up to the Fulham clash and will not be available for City's clashes with Tottenham this Wednesday and West Ham on Sunday.

There are also fears that he may not be fit in time to be picked for Fabio Capello's England World Cup squad although Mancini is sure he will be right for South Africa.

"Joleon will not play for us again this season, but he will work every day and try to recover," the Italian said.

"I don't know if Capello has spoken to him about the situation, but I haven't spoken to Capello for the past 15 days.

"I hope that Joleon can recover in time for the World Cup, though. There is time after the season finishes for him to get fit.

"Wednesday's game is important for us and also for Tottenham, but it is a football match, not a war. The pressure is there, but that pressure is normal. We should not be nervous because we have players who have experience of big games.

"The likes of Carlos Tevez, Emmanuel Adebayor, Gareth Barry and Nigel de Jong have all played in big games like this before."
