Joleon Lescott insists David Moyes is the right manager for Sunderland.

Lescott starred under Moyes at Everton before a bitter transfer to Manchester City in 2009.

The Toffees were riding high at the time and Lescott says his ex-boss has what it takes to lead Sunderland to safety this season.

"With what he knows about football, he's got more than enough to keep them up," the former England defender told Radio 5Live.

"He knows how to win games and not get beat.

"He's still probably finding his feet."
