Lescott full of praise for West Brom coaching duo

West Bromwich Albion signing Joleon Lescott is full of praise for coaches Keith Downing and Rob Kelly.

He has linked up again with former Everton coach Alan Irvine and ex-Wolves youth coaches Downing and Kelly.

"Keith was my youth team manager and a great coach for me growing up," Lescott told the Birmingham Mail. "He was the man to know. Obviously he was my manager but we grew up in the same area so we had that in common.

"Rob was another one - he was head of recruitment when I joined. I had a great relationship with them both and at that stage of my career it was a perfect match.

"This is a big reason why I came to West Brom. I know and understand the people. They've given me a lot of confidence."

He added: "I've come from a team that won the League and trophies - I wasn't just going to go anywhere. Alan was a big reason for that."
