Aston Villa owner Randy Lerner is being linked with a club sale.

The Sunday Express says Lerner may listen to offers for Aston Villa following the $1billion sale of his American football side the Cleveland Browns.

Despite denials by Villa Park's chief executive Paul Faulkner that the NFL transaction won't impact on his Premier League holding, a reliable source says that feelers have been put out for potential buyers of the Midlands club.

Villa chief executive Faulkner insists however: "The Browns situation has absolutely nothing to do with Aston Villa."
