Leonardo factor may wreck Ancelotti's Real Madrid hopes

Carlo Ancelotti's hopes of moving to Real Madrid hinges on PSG football chief Leonardo.PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi wants Leonardo to step in for Ancelotti in the coming season before welcoming Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger next summer.

But Leonardo's future in French football is on trial today after he allegedly shoved a referee. If the Brazilian is found guilty and given a lengthy ban, it would prevent him from taking over from Ancelotti and scupper Al-Khelaifi's plans.

With still a year to run on Ancelotti's contract, Al-Khelaifi will insist the Italian fulfil the agreement, so wrecking his hopes of moving to Real this summer.

Real would be left having to pay Ancelotti's €7.5 million compensation clause to get him out of his PSG deal.
