Leonardo is edging closer to resigning from AC Milan.

Itasportpress says the Brazilian is sure to have been unimpressed by a joke from Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani.

After several weeks of subtle digs from Milan patron Silvio Berlusconi, Leonardo also was the subject of a joke from Galliani, who declared yesterday the Brazilian was leaving: "We hope he doesn't ask us to terminate his contract, like he did as a player."

Leonardo is said to be fed-up with the constant battles he's had to endure with the board since taking over the coaching reigns this season. The Brazilian, before agreeing to take the job, was assured of a bumper transfer kitty and plans to overhaul the squad, but nothing has been met.

Indeed, it's claimed the decision to leave has already been made by Leonardo, where he has an offer of a high-profile and influential role from the Brazilian Football Federation.
