Lennon tipped to be centre of Ramos' Spurs plans

Sevilla sports chief Monchi says new Tottenham boss Juande Ramos will base his team around the talents of Aaron Lennon.

Monchi told the Sunday Express: "Lennon fits exactly the style that Juande likes - he is very quick and is perfect for the way Ramos likes to play the game. He likes a very attacking style, lots of pressure on the opposition and quick breaks on the counter-attack."

Lennon fell out of favour in the final days of Martin Jol's reign but Monchi believes Ramos will breathe new life into him and his fellow misfiring attackers.

He added: "When we played Spurs in the UEFA Cup we concentrated on them all because Tottenham is an excellent team. We were very aware of Berbatov, Defoe, Lennon, Keane and Chimbonda - we knew any one of those could do us damage.

"There is room for them to move up the table. Tottenham have a much better team than their position suggests. They have not over-rated Juande at all - he is an excellent coach. He has what it takes to manage at the very highest level as he has shown by taking Sevilla into the Champions League."
