Lennon targeting Real Madrid as Celtic look ahead to CL

Celtic manager Neil Lennon would love to take on Real Madrid in the Champions League group stage this season.

The Hoops are into Europe's premier club competition after beating Shakhter Karagandy 3-2 on aggregate courtesy of their 3-0 home win in the second leg on Wednesday night.

It has been a testing time for Lennon and his squad recently but the Bhoys boss was thrilled to make it through for a second straight season as he gets ready for a possible date with Real.

When quizzed about who he would like to be drawn against, Lennon selected Madrid, before adding: "I think that would be pretty special.

"Or maybe a Battle of Britain would be great as well but I don't care - it's just a magnificent feeling.

"I'm delighted for the players and supporters."

He added further: "What we have come through in the last six, seven weeks has been really difficult.

"It is a huge feeling of relief and a huge feeling of pride."
