Everton winger Aaron Lennon was delighted with victory over Newcastle United.

Lennon was influential in their 3-0 win.

"It was definitely a much-needed three points," he told evertonfc.com. "The lads worked hard from the first minute. We knew how important it was to get the three points and thankfully we got them.

"We worked all week on starting the game right, to get in their faces inside the first 10 minutes and putting them on the back foot. We managed to do that and thankfully it worked for us.

"I was shattered after the game - I got in the dressing room and didn't move! To be fair, the whole team put a shift in from the first minute to the last and we got our reward."
