Neil Lennon was relieved to claim the three points after Celtic's 2-1 victory over Motherwell following the Scottish Cup defeat by Ross County. Caretaker boss Lennon had urged his players to prove him wrong after advising the Celtic board to move some of them on following Saturday's Hampden humiliation, and he was delighted with the response as Celtic edged past a positive Motherwell team.
"It was a good reaction and the win was huge for us," said Lennon.
"It's a small, small step in the right direction.
"There are a lot of things wrong and a lot of things right - we still have a lot of work to do.
"But that's three league wins in a row and we have got to take something from that.
"They could have gone under really easily after losing a cheap goal just after half-time.
"It was nervy and tense, as I expected it to be, but we got three points."
