Lennon feels Celtic in pole position for title

Celtic boss Neil Lennon is adamant that his side is in the perfect position to take out this season's Scottish Premier League title.

The Hoops manager feels that Sunday's Old Firm victory over Rangers has given his club the ascendency heading into the business end of the season but has made it quite clear that there is still plenty of work ahead of them.

"We're not getting carried away and can't be complacent, but what we've done is give ourselves a real good foothold in the title race," he said.

"We're four points clear and it's a decent lead at the minute.

"Rangers have two games in hand but they are both tough games.

"To be honest, we can only concentrate on what we're doing.

"Even if we had lost on Sunday I wouldn't have said the league is over as there is a lot of football to be played.

"The fact that we won now gives us a real chance.

"People have been saying we don't win big games and we did that last Sunday.

"It was vital we won and the players went out there and played with real determination.

"I am so proud of them. It was a really magnificent performance. It's a wonderful feeling."
