Lennon delights in comfortable Celtic victory

Celtic manager Neil Lennon was delighted after watching his side cruise past Aberdeen 3-0 at Pittodrie Stadium on Tuesday night.

The Hoops grabbed their fourth win on the trot in the league to extend their unbeaten run to 12, going eight points clear of Rangers at the top of the table.

Lennon was happy his team were in the midst of a good run which has been buoyed by a plethora of clean sheets in recent times (seven in their last eight matches).

"We are on a decent run - there is no doubt about it. Tonight was a difficult game and it was vital that we won and the manner of the victory was very, very pleasing. The confidence is there and they are playing with a bit of freedom as well," he said.

"I'm delighted we kept another clean sheet and scored three more goals. The gap is now eight points, which means we are just asking the right questions and that is all we can do at the moment."

He was also very complimentary of the performances of both Gary Hooper and Anthony Stokes who were the architects of the win with a goal each.

"I thought Hooper was absolutely brilliant throughout and his touch, awareness and strength were excellent. Anthony also played well and took his goal brilliantly. He has got eight goals in his last six matches and that is exactly what we bought him to the club to do," he added.
