Gary Hooper has performed brilliantly since arriving at Celtic and manager Neil Lennon is delighted at the fact he wants to extend his current contract.

The 23-year old striker scored his 11th Scottish Premier League goal of the season (15 in all competitions) as the Hoops defeated St Johnstone 2-0 at McDiarmid Park after previously indicating he would be happy to remain at Parkhead amidst interest from clubs in England.

"It's really encouraging to hear Gary talking like that,” he said.

"There are a lot of players playing at the top of their game and he's one of them. He's got 15 goals, which is great.

"I think the world of him as a player and I'm happy he's settled here."
