LEICESTER v ARSENAL RECAP: Alexis Sanchez hits hat-trick as Gunners ground Foxes

Arsenal became the first team to defeat Leicester City this season with a stunning 5-2 win at King Power Stadium on Saturday.

Alexis Sanchez scored a hat-trick as Arsene Wenger's men wreaked havoc with Claudio Ranieri's side in the East Midlands.

Leicester scored first through Jamie Vardy who got on the end of a lovely long ball from Danny Drinkwater before firing beyond Petr Cech before Arsenal responded five minutes later when Theo Walcott raced onto a neat through ball from Santi Cazorla to slot past Kasper Schmeichel.

Alexis gave the Gunners the lead in the 33rd minute when finishing into an empty net before adding a second prior to the hour-mark when he glanced home Mesut Ozil's delightful chipped cross before completing his treble with a stunning volley from close range in the 81st minute.

Vardy pulled one back for Leicester in the 89th minute with a curling effort from an angle before Olivier Giroud came off the bench to wrap it up in injury-time when firing home Nacho Monreal's cross.

The Foxes fell to seventh on the table with their first loss of the campaign as Arsenal
