Former Everton and Manchester City fullback Michael Ball is trialling with Leicester City.
Foxes boss Sven Goran Eriksson has already signed six players this summer, while South African defender Tsepo Masilela underwent a medical with the club on Sunday.
Speaking at City's pre-season training camp in Sweden, Eriksson told Fotbollskanalen: "I had Michael Ball at Manchester City. He has been injured for a year-and-a-half and has no club so I have invited him on for pre-season training.
"So far he has been good and if he continues like he has we will offer him a contract."
