Leicester City have opened talks with Toronto FC striker Jermain Defoe today.
The MLS club are willing to sell Defoe today and the Londoner, currently at home recovering from a groin injury, is keen for a move to happen.
QPR have been regarded as favourites for Defoe, but they risk being crowded out in the race for his signature.
Leicester are currently speaking with TFC and Defoe about a deal.
Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew is also in contact, having worked with Defoe at West Ham.
