Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy says Craig Shakespeare deserves the manager's job long-term.

Vardy was speaking before hitting the winner at West Brom on Saturday.

"Because he has known us all and known us for quite a few years, he knows every single one of our major strengths and our weaknesses.

"All he wants to do is make sure we are all playing to our strengths," said Vardy.

"I think so (the right man for the job) yeah, but it is not down to us that is up to the hierarchy of Leicester.

"We will have to get the season out of the way, make sure we are staying in the Premier League and we will see what happens in the summer.

"I think how we do for the remainder of the season could help him, yes."
