Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez wanted to join Manchester United in a deadline day move, Daily Star has revealed.

It is no secret that the Algerian wanted to leave the Foxes in the summer, and was linked with a number of clubs.

However, despite interests from the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Roma, a move never eventuated.

Now, the Daily Star has claimed that the representatives of the player had tried to angle a move to United on the deadline day, but United never made an official offer for him.
