Algeria are through to the quarter-finals of the 2015 African Cup of Nations after defeating Senegal 2-0 in Malabo.
Christian Gourcuff's Les Verts have progressed to the final eight of Africa's showcase tournament after finishing second in Group C behind Ghana who came from behind to beat South Africa on Tuesday.
Algeria's opening goal came from Leicester City's Riyad Mahrez who got on the end of a long ball from Madjid Bougherra, amidst some defensive doubt, in the 11th minute.
A draw would have been enough for Algeria to proceed but that was not to be the case with Tottenham's Nabil Bentaleb adding a second with eight minutes remaining to safely guide the North Africans into the next phase.
Algeria will meet the winner of Group D in the quarter-finals which will come from Cameroon, Guinea, Ivory Coast or Mali with all sides locked on two points ahead of Wednesday's fixtures.
