Leicester City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson admitted that three second-half goals by West Bromwich Albion in the Carling Cup fourth round flattered the Premier League club's scoreline.
The Foxes were able to cancel out Simon Cox's 21st minute opener when they had some fortune with an own goal from Nicky Shorey eight minutes into the second half but as things were in the balance, disaster struck for the Championship outfit.
Goalkeeper Conrad Logan made a huge error when he failed to hold onto a long ball, gifting a chance to Somen Tchoyi who made it 2-1 in the 62nd minute, turning the game in the Baggies' favour.
Steven Reid and Cox again and it was the late goals that really disappointed Eriksson.
"I think we were as good on the pitch as West Brom and that's good, we played rather good football, created opportunities, so it's a pity that we're out of the Carling Cup," he said.
"It's even more of a pity for people who haven't seen this game who will think West Brom have cruised over us, that was not the case.
"But saying that, it doesn't really matter how good football we play if we don't stop conceding goals that easy.
"It's absolutely too easy to score goals against us. If we don't change that then we can forget about the play-offs or promotion."
