Big-spending Leicester City are aiming to trump Premier League clubs again with a massive offer for Reading striker Shane Long.
The Daily Mail says Leicester are ready to table a £7million bid for Reading striker Long as boss Sven Goran Eriksson bids to beat off competition from the Barclays Premier League for the prolific hitman.
Championship rivals West Ham had a bid totalling £7m for the Republic of Ireland forward rejected, but it seems Eriksson has persuaded the club's wealthy Thai owners to stump up the cash for Long.
Newcastle United and West Bromwich are also interested in Long, who scored 44 goals in 94 Championship starts for Reading, 24 of them last season.
