Leicester City midfielder Papy Mendy is being lined up for a return to Ligue 1.

The Leicester Mercury says several Ligue 1 sides have expressed an interest in taking the 24-year-old back to his homeland after an injury-ravaged season at City.

Mendy was signed for £13million from Nice last summer but injured his ankle on his debut against Arsenal in August and has had to have surgery to solve the ongoing problem.

City have not been actively looking to cash in on the defensive midfielder and will wait to see what bids do come in and listen to the player's wishes before deciding on a course of action.
