Leicester midfielder Drinkwater not perturbed by Mansfield draw

Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater says the friendly against Mansfield was more about fitness levels rather than the result.

Leicester put in a poor display during their 1-1 draw against League Two side Mansfield on Saturday but Drinkwater is not fretting over the result and has insisted that the match was important in helping the Foxes take another step towards reaching their peak fitness levels ahead of the Premier League campaign.

"I wouldn't look too much into the result," said Drinkwater.

"It's more about getting your fitness and getting your legs back, and just getting minutes where you can.

"The focus is on getting the sharpness back, playing together as a team is key and pushing on from last season. We are getting fitter and stronger, and come the end of pre-season we will be at the top of our game."
