Leicester to make official approach for Huddersfield boss Clark

Huddersfield Town manager Lee Clark has emerged as a target for Championship club Leicester City.

The Foxes are still without a new boss following the sacking of Sven-Goran Eriksson early last week but it is believed that Clark is their number one target.

Clark has Huddersfield currently sitting second on the League One table and although he has heard nothing formal, he has indicated that a move to a club like Leicester is certainly appealing.

"I can't speak about whether there is anything in these stories because I've had no contact," said the 39-year old.

"But if I did, the first person I would pick up the phone to, within seconds, would be chairman Dean Hoyle to explain the situation.

"I know I am a lucky man as manager to have a man like Dean backing me and that might not be so easy to walk away from.

"He has become a good friend as well as my boss, and I've got too much respect for him not to do it that way but there are many factors before we even reach that stage."
