Leicester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson is ready to hand Jonathan Woodgate a lifeline.

Eriksson wants England old boy and free agent Woodgate, 31, to join his promotion challenge at Leicester, says The Sun.

The injury-plagued defender was released by Tottenham last month.

Former club Leeds United have also confirmed their interest.
