Leicester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson is chasing Tottenham striker Robbie Keane.
The Sun says the big-spending Leicester boss will table an offer for Keane, 31, in the next 48 hours and is confident of persuading the Republic of Ireland striker to join his Championship promotion mission.
Eriksson - who has brought in 11 players over the summer - missed out on Shane Long, who joined West Brom, and has had three bids for Bristol City striker Nicky Maynard rejected.
Keane spent a disappointing loan spell at West Ham last season and Spurs want him off their wage bill.
Eriksson said: "I always said if we can get a striker with a good goalscoring record, we are going to try. If there is a proven striker who can score 20 goals then we'll work hard to bring him in."
