Leicester City are front-runners to sign Newcastle United winger Wayne Routledge after Swansea City's offer was rejected for the player.
The package on offer from Swansea did not involve Welsh international left-back Neil Taylor, who is still trying to activate the escape clause in his contract which Swans chairman Huw Jenkins has so far refused to sanction, says the Evening Chronicle.
Foxes boss Sven-Goran Eriksson can offer Routledge Premier League wages at the Walkers Stadium.
